Summary:
As of April 2026, Redpanda Cloud now sends proactive billing notifications so you're never caught off guard by a depleted balance. You will receive timely email alerts as your balance approaches key milestones.
What You'll Be Notified About:
You'll receive email alerts when your credit or commit balance reaches the following thresholds:
- 50% Remaining
- 30% Remaining
- 10% Remaining
- 0% Remaining
Credits are pre-paid funds drawn down by your usage. Commit balances reflect your contractual spend commitment for a billing period. Alerts will trigger once each threshold so you can receive a reminder for each milestone.

Who Receives These Notifications?
- Billing notifications are sent to all users with the Admin role in your organization. If your organization has multiple admins, each will receive the alerts independently.
- If you have multiple Redpanda Cloud organizations, each organization is managed separately and will generate its own notifications.
What to do when you receive an alert?
- 50% remaining — Good time to review upcoming usage and plan accordingly.
- 30% remaining — Consider adding credits or reaching out to your account team to discuss renewal or expansion options.
- 10% remaining — Take action promptly.
- 0% remaining — Your balance is exhausted. You may incur overage charges or experience limitations. Contact your account team immediately.
- All usage based agreements can check the current balance at any time from the Billing dashboard (GCP does not currently provide this capability).
Frequently Asked Questions
I didn't sign up for these — why am I receiving them? Billing notifications are sent by default to all org admins. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any billing email.
I added credits after receiving an alert. Will I keep getting emails? No. Each threshold fires only once. Once you've received an alert for a given milestone, you won't receive it again for that same threshold crossing.
I got an alert, but my balance looks fine in the Console. The alert was triggered at the moment your balance crossed a threshold. Your balance may have been topped up since then. Check your current balance at cloud.redpanda.com/billing.
I unsubscribed but still received an email. Preference updates are processed within 24–48 hours. If you're still receiving emails after that window, please contact support@redpanda.com.
